Welcoming Dingwen and Leonie as new Lab members
The Wimmers Lab welcomes two new additions to its team - Leonie Gernst and Dingwen Su. Leonie joins as the new Lab technician, while Dingwen will join the tonsil team as a Postdoc researcher.
Dingwen Su obtained her BSc from Tongji University (Shanghai, China) and an MSc from the University of Tübingen. She successfully completed her PhD at the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory of the Max Planck Society in Germany, integrating both wet lab and computational methods to explore the role of DNA G-quadruplexes in Bloom Syndrome, developing a strong interest in single-cell sequencing along the way. Her long-term research goal at the Wimmers Lab is to harness diverse methodologies to unravel the mechanisms of complex diseases and their intricate interactions with the immune system.
The Wimmers Lab welcomes Leonie Gerst as the new lab technician. She completed her BSc in Biotechnology at the University Esslingen and obtained her MSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University Albstadt-Sigmaringen. She has a keen interest in immunology, molecular biology, and cancer biology and seeks to put her experience into practice at the Wimmers Lab.
